Treatment

  1. The Provider will give you a consultation. This will help answer any questions or concerns that you may have.

  2. When it is time to begin the tattoo removal process, your provider may begin with taking a photo for a before and after,

  3. They will provide you with a pair of sunglasses to protect your eyes from the laser.

  4. They will then clean your skin and allow it to dry. If you have darker skin, they may apply an ice pack or cooling gel to the area.

  5. They will then begin the process of the tattoo removal. The laser will send pulses of light into your skin to break up the ink. This may take a few passes.

Aftercare

1. Keep the area clean and dry while it is healing. Clean the area gently with soap and water, and then pat the area dry. Apply a thin coat of Aquaphor twice a day for the first three days, and keep it covered with a sterile dressing. You can remove the dressing after 3 days, but can continue to apply the Aquaphor to moisturize as it heals.

2. The treated area may feel similar to a sunburn. Applying a cool compress may ease the
discomfort and inflammation.

3. Itching is common due to the treatment's dehydration effect. Aquaphor, hydrocortisone cream, or Vitamin E oil may be helpful. Itching from an allergic reaction is rare but possible. Notify us if itching or swelling persists for more than a week after treatment.

4. It is ok to shower after the treatment, but avoid high-pressure water hitting the area. Do not swim, bathe, use hot tubs, or any other form of soaking until all blistering and scabbing is completely healed as it greatly increases the risk of infection.

5. Exercise is generally safe but may cause bruising to the treated area. I suggest taking a few days off immediately after treatment, but once your skin scabs over, physical activity may help the tattoo removal process, as it increases blood flow and breaks down the ink particles in your skin.

6. If the area looks infected (honey colored crusting or oozing or spreading redness), or if you experience any unusual discomfort or bleeding, if any other complications develop, or if you have any questions or concerns, contact the office immediately at 850-777-3806.

7 . if you have an extreme reaction, call 911 or go to the emergency room.
